Dear Mr. Hanley,

Thank you for your encouraging response regarding this pressing issue
in Kashipur.

We are will available to meet in the week of June 14. I propose that
we meet at 10h00 on Wednesday June 16. Please let us know if this will be
a good time for you and your team to meet. We also accept the invitation
to meet at Alcan's Montreal office.

On that date we will happily provide the third-party assessments and
other documents that we have, as per our committment to you after the AGM.

Regarding our organization structure and financing, we will also gladly
provide information about our structure and principles on that date.
There is not very much to share since we are simply a coalition of concerned
peoples and groups from Montreal and Canada generally, with
associations with similar groups and peoples from the US, Norway, India and other
countries as well. Having researched this issue thoroughly, we are
very concerned about Alcan's role in this proposed mining project in India
and know that it is very important that the public at large is aware of and
actively involved in this issue. We will be willing to answer
questions that you have regarding the group's structure during our meeting.

Regarding the EIA by Engineers India Ltd. we can certainly review it
during the meeting, but will also require a copy that we can keep for after
the meeting.

Regarding the signed motions of support for 23 of 24 villages, we also
require copies of these that we can review after the meeting. If you
can provide English translations, that would be appreciated, but we require
copies of the original Oriya statements as well.

Again, thank you for your response. We very much look forward to
having a clear and up-to-date statement on UAIL, its activities and its impacts
which we can then transmit to the public.
